Terms and refunds

These terms cover ElliniCards and the Odyssey subscription. Creating an account or subscribing means you agree to them. Questions? Email hello@ellinicards.com.
Your account
You must be 18 or older to create an account. An account is for one person, so keep your password to yourself.
A guest account has no email. It’s deleted after 30 days without use, unless you add an email.
Odyssey
ElliniCards is free to use: Study, Path, stats, the first four units and your own cards. Odyssey adds every unit and collection, more reading and conversation each week, longer conversations, your own Talk situations, pop quizzes, difficulty settings and Autofill.
- Price. $8.99 a month or $89.99 a year, in US dollars. Tax may be added where it applies.
- Founding price. Annual plans started in the first two weeks after launch cost $69.99 a year, and keep that price for as long as you stay subscribed without a break.
- Free trial. Your first subscription starts with 7 days free. You add a card up front. Cancel within the 7 days and you pay nothing. One trial per account.
- Renewal. Odyssey renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.
- Cancelling. Cancel anytime in Account → Manage subscription. You keep Odyssey until the end of the period you paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
- Price changes. If your price changes, we’ll email you at least 30 days before your next renewal, so you can cancel first. The founding price doesn’t change.
- Payments. Stripe handles payments. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
Refunds
Not happy? Email hello@ellinicards.com within 14 days of any charge and we’ll refund it in full. That goes for your first payment and every renewal, monthly or annual. Write from the email on your account so we can find it.
After 14 days, cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Odyssey until the period ends. If you’d still like a refund, ask anyway. We look at every request.
Charged twice, or renewed when you meant to cancel? Write to us and we’ll sort it out.
Nothing here takes away refund or cancellation rights you have under the law where you live.
Limits
Read, Talk and Autofill use an AI model that costs us money every time it runs. So they have weekly limits, shown in the app, and the service has a monthly ceiling. If the ceiling is reached, they pause until the 1st of the next month. Study and the rest of the app keep working.
We may change limits or collections over time. If a change takes away something you paid for, you can ask for a refund of the unused part of your period.
AI content
Readings, conversation replies, conversation feedback and Autofill are written by an AI model and can contain mistakes, in Greek or in English. Treat them as practice, not as an authority.
What you type in Read and Talk is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to produce a reply. Don’t type anything you’d want kept private.
Your cards
The cards you write and your study history are yours. You let us store and use them to run the app for you. You can download everything from Account, and deleting your account deletes it. The collections, readings and the app itself remain ours.
Fair use
Don’t get around limits or payments, share your account, copy collections in bulk, overload the service, or use Read and Talk for anything unlawful or abusive. We may suspend accounts that do.
Ending
You can delete your account anytime from Account. That also cancels your Odyssey subscription.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close your account for any other reason, or shut ElliniCards down, we’ll refund the unused part of any paid period.
Liability
ElliniCards is provided as is. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using ElliniCards after that, you accept the new terms.
